Merrimack Valley Hospice Offers Free Holiday Family Grief Support Group
Lawrence -Merrimack Valley Hospice is offering a special program for children and teens ages 6-14 and their families who have experienced a loss. Coping with Special Days and Holidays is day-long program for children who may need additional support during the holiday season due to the loss of a loved one. The holidays can be especially difficult for children who are reminded of happy holidays and traditions of the past. At this group, children learn creative ways to remember and acknowledge the special person they have lost. They also interact with other children who are grieving and learn that it is normal to be sad during the holidays. The Coping with Special Days and Holidays program is facilitated by bereavement counselors and expressive therapists who have special training in the grief needs of children.
The program will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:30am – 2:30pm at Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Building 9, the 4th floor, Lawrence, MA. Registration is required. If you have questions or would like to register contact Lois at 978-552-4537.
