Visiting Nurse Association of America Volunteer of the Year

Ila Cox head shot Ila Cox of Boxford MA, long time Board of Trustee member of the Home Health Foundation, has been named as the Visiting Nurse Association of America (VNAA) Volunteer of the Year under the category of Agency Board Member. The award honors her for leadership, determination and significant contributions to a home health agency. Home care organizations from across the United States nominated their board members for this award. Cox was selected from that group of candidates.

“Ila has many professional accomplishments and has been recognized as an innovator and leader who, through honesty and hard work, has helped this organization tackle tough problems and succeed,” said John Albert, President and CEO of the Home Health Foundation, which includes Home Health VNA, Merrimack Valley Hospice, and HomeCare, Inc. “In addition, she serves as a role model and mentor, not only because of her business and academic accomplishments but through the example she sets for other board members and employees every day. Her management style inspires, motivates and mobilizes others to take action. She encourages great ideas and employee participation. ”

“This award is a reflection of the talent, hard work and commitment of the 800 employees of the Home Health Foundation,” said Cox. “They are truly remarkable people, all working tirelessly to serve the home health and hospice needs of our community. I am honored, and proud to accept this award on their behalf.”

Cox received her award in April at the VNAA Annual Meeting in Florida.
