Levels of Care
Two levels of care are offered at High Pointe House:
- Inpatient care – for patients in need of acute medical and nursing care for the management of pain and other symptoms and for the administration of medications that can only be provided in a hospital, long term care facility, or licensed hospice residence. Medicare and private health insurance typically fully cover this level of care.
- Routine care – for patients who are unable to receive hospice care at home for a variety of non-medical reasons. Medicare and health insurance typically cover the medical costs associated with the terminal illness. The patient or family assumes responsibility for applicable room and board fees.
