Bereavement Support

Bereavement Support includes counseling and support services totally focused on the needs of the patient, family and loved ones. Bereavement services are available for 24 months following the loss. Services can include one-on-one and group counseling, as well as community-based support groups for people of all ages.   Memorial services are provided in nursing homes, assisted living and other facilities for staff and other residents who are grieving a loss.

Children’s Bereavement Support Programs offer grief support and counseling for children who have suffered a loss, and their parents/caregivers.  Programs are designed to help children develop healthy coping skills and gain an understanding of their own grief experience.  Programs include

  • Pizza and…. A biweekly support group for children and teens offered throughout the school year
  • Summer Break,  one day camp-like program where children interact with others who have suffered a loss
  • Coping with the holidays, a special support and educational program to help children who have lost a family member prepare for the holidays
