The Interpreter will provide language interpreting services for clients and the Home Health Foundation. Must be qualified and competent Language Interpreter for medical services.
Participate in patient/client care conferences.
Provide interpretation for patients/families who have Limited English Proficiency (LEP) in their place of residence in the presence of a Home Health Foundation employee.
Provide effective and clear interpretation and communication.
Simultaneously interpret the spoken language and facilitate communication between the patient/family and the VNA employee, in English and in the patient's preferred language.

Practices in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the Massachusetts Medical Interpreters Association.
Complies with the home care standards for accreditation promulgated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
Adhere to applicable policies, procedures as they pertain to patient/client care and to applicable personnel qualifications.
Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of what to report to the CEO or Chief Compliance Officer when concerns of corporate compliance arise.
Ensures compliance within guidelines set forth by regulatory agencies (DPH, ERISA etc.)
Practices confidentiality principles set by the agency and federal HIPAA/HITECH guidelines.
Participates in all mandatory inservices.
Required Education and Experience:
Ability to read/write and communicate in English and Khmer.
Medical Interpreter Certification.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to function well in very busy situations.
Responsible and reliable.
Good organization skills.
