The Program Clinical Manager of Home Infusion Therapy is responsible for the education and supervision of Infusion Therapy nurses and coordination of services for patients receiving Infusion Therapy.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure the delivery of quality care to clients receiving Infusion Therapy across all Home Health Foundation entities.
  • Develop, review and revise infusion policies and procedures to ensure quality delivery of care using INS Standards.
  • Coordinate infusion services with Intake, Scheduling, staff and equipment companies.
  • Arrange for RN infusion on-call coverage 24-hours/day. All nurses on call/after hours are expected to manage infusion cases. There is no separate on call group.
  • Conducts ongoing medical record review to insure compliance with policies.
  • Provide consultation, education and supervision of infusion care and services for staff.
  • In conjunction with the respective clinical managers, supervises and directs the provision of infusion services.
  • Provide/orient or assist staff in the assessment of patients receiving infusion services.
  • Arrange for instruction and practice of IV skills outside the agency when necessary.
  • Conduct home visits with staff to instruct and supervise in IV techniques and procedures.
  • Be accessible for staff consultation and problem solving.
  • Market Infusion Therapy program and services to increase therapy referrals.
  • Assists in the expansion of the service line as needed
  • Visit and consult with physicians, nurses, discharge planners and IV vendors.
  • Interpret agency philosophy and services to patients, families and service providers.
  • Work effectively with IV companies to achieve safe and efficient infusion services for clients.
  • Maintain professional commitment, credibility and clinical expertise in concepts of infusion nursing.

a. Maintain active membership in Intravenous Nurses Society.

b. Keep current in infusion nursing through journals, seminars, research and network.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work & Travel

This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. with overall leadership responsibility 7 days a week with some flexibility based on position.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing; BS in Nursing or Health Care required, Masters preferred.
  • Current licenses as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Or current licensure in either MA or NH with the expectation of licensure in both states upon start.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • Current CRNI (Certified Registered Nurse Infusion) certification preferred.  
  • Minimum of five years' experience in intravenous therapy required with experience exhibited in teaching and/or supervision.
  • Current Class III motor vehicle operator's licenses in either Massachusetts or New Hampshire.
