On Friday, October 12, James Baker, MD, M.P.H., Associate Medical Director for Merrimack Valley Hospice, co-presented “Tragedy Impetus for Perioperative Anesthetic Programs for Recovering Addicts” at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2018, the 4th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). Dr. Baker was joined by Joseph Myers, MD, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Creator, ComfortSafe Pyramid, MedStar, of Georgetown University Hospital.
ASA is an educational, research and scientific association of physicians organized to raise and maintain the standards of the medical practice of anesthesiology and improve the care of the patient. This year’s conference was jointly sponsored by the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Uniformed Services Society of Anesthesiologists and the Association of Veterans’ Affairs Anesthesiologists and held in San Francisco, California. It was designed to bridge research and technology with patient care while facilitating face-to-face collaboration. The meeting was attended by more than 14,000 thought leaders and anesthesia providers from more than 80 countries.
