John Albert, MBA, FACHE, President and CEO of Home Health VNA, Merrimack Valley Hospice and HomeCare, Inc., announced today that the agencies have been awarded accreditation with full standards compliance from the Joint Commission.
“This award follows a rigorous four-day unannounced evaluation of our agencies programs, policies, procedures and patient care quality” said Albert. “Joint Commission accreditation affirms our commitment to excellence in patient care. I cannot be more proud of all of our staff from across the organization. They demonstrate their skill and commitment to patients and families in the communities we serve every day.”
The Joint Commission, formed in 1951, is dedicated to improving the quality of the nation’s health care through a voluntary accreditation and is responsible for accrediting and certifying more than 19,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. All Home Health organizations are subject to a three- year accreditation cycle.
In 2010 Home Health VNA was named among the top 25% of the “Home Care Elite”, a listing of the top tier of home health care agencies in the United States. Later that year the agency was named a Pinnacle Award finalist for superior patient satisfaction from the Visiting Nurse Association of New England. Home Health VNA, Merrimack Valley Hospice and HomeCare, Inc., the leaders in home health and hospice care, provide a full continuum of home health, hospice and community based services in 90 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley, Northeastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and the seacoast.
