Home Health VNA Presents Memorial Scholarship Lawrence, Mass. – Home Health VNA has awarded Dannie Kingori, a Lawrence resident and graduate of the Health Careers Program at Greater Lawrence Technical High School, a scholarship given annually in memory of a former employee. Mr. Kingori has been accepted to Northern Essex Community College and plans to pursue a career in nursing.

The $500 scholarship, was established in 1995 as a tribute to Lisa Santiago Ventura, an employee of Home Health VNA. Ms. Ventura, while driving to care for a patient, was accidentally struck during a high speed police chase and sustained fatal injuries. In her memory, the agency awards the Lisa Santiago Ventura Memorial Scholarship to a graduating senior of the Greater Lawrence Vocational High School where she was a student.

“We are proud to present this scholarship to Dannie Kingori, an exemplary student, pursuing a career in nursing,” said Karen Gomes, RN, MS, CPHQ, President / CEO of Home Health VNA, and its affiliate agencies Merrimack Valley Hospice and HomeCare, Inc. “We are impressed with his dedication and determination and are confident he will be an asset to his chosen field.”

Lindsey Gangi, lead teacher in the Health Careers Department at the Greater Lawrence Technical High School, recommended Mr. Kingori for this scholarship. “Dannie is an all-around great student and an excellent representative of the Greater Lawrence Technical High School.”
