York, Maine – On Wednesday, October 15, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Dr. Robert Horowitz, Medical Director from York Hospital Hospice, will present “Understanding the Value of Hospice in Cancer Care and Treatment.” This presentation, part of the “Lunch and Learn” series of the York Hospital Women’s committee, and funded by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation, will be held at York Public Library at 15 Long Sands Road in York, Maine.
Dr. Horowitz will provide a basic overview of cancer, treatment options and symptom management with hospice care. The presentation is designed to educate the public about the many treatment options that might be available as well as when hospice and comfort care is most appropriate and beneficial to the patient and family. Following his presentation, Dr. Horowitz will take questions from the audience. Lunch will be provided.
