Lawrence, MA – October 17, 2014 – Three hundred and fifty guests had fun “Along the Boardwalk” at this year’s annual Food, Wine, and Beer Pairing and Silent Auction to benefit Merrimack Valley Hospice. On September 25, the Black Swan Country Club in Georgetown was transformed with games and fun from the classic boardwalks of yesteryear, while guests enjoyed old-time games like skee-ball, the duck-pond, and ring toss; had their fortune’s told; and walked home with more than 100 unique auction packages donated by local businesses and supporters. Raising $125,000 this year, the signature fundraiser benefits patients and their families receiving hospice care and bereavement services in the 110 towns served by Merrimack Valley Hospice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and York, Maine.
Ensuring the event’s success was Pentucket Bank, the Premier Sponsor. Additional lead support was from the Fazioli Charitable Foundation as Chateau Sponsor.
“This event grows each year in terms of the fun our guests seem to enjoy and the funds that are raised for Merrimack Valley Hospice,” remarked John Albert, President and CEO of Merrimack Valley Hospice and the agencies of Home Health Foundation. “It’s truly an honor to see that the evening brings together so many people who have been touched by our hospice care in some way and understand that the funds raised stay here in the community they live in, work in and care about.”
An ever-popular event, people are already anticipating the theme for the 2015 Food, Wine and Beer Pairing, scheduled for September 24, 2015.
