York Hospital Hospice Volunteers Honored for their Talent and Teamwork

YHH-VolunteerAppreciationYork, Maine – The year 2015 may not have been the finest for the Boston Red Sox but that didn’t stop a great group of volunteers from York Hospital Hospice from celebrating their “team” and the valuable services they provide to patients and families. On Wednesday, October 7, they gathered at The York Harbor Inn to be honored for their time, talent and teamwork on behalf of the agency.

In his remarks, John Albert, President and CEO of York Hospital Hospice, summed up the evening theme nicely when he said “It takes a great team, working together for a common goal that gets you to the play-offs and beyond. We are so fortunate to have that great team – one that includes people with diverse interests, skills and talents who work together to benefit York Hospital Hospice and the patients and families in our care.”

In the past 12 months York Hospital Hospice volunteers provided assistance and companionship to patients and families, knitted prayer shawls, assisted with bereavement groups, helped with training and more.
